Diploma in Policy and Strategy

Objective: To equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to design and write detailed, evidence-based Evaluation Case Studies that assess the processes, outcomes, and impacts of policies, programmes, or projects.

• Understanding Evaluation Case Studies: Defining the purpose, scope, and structure of an evaluation case study.

• Framing the Case Study: Developing key questions, objectives, and aligning with evaluation frameworks.

• Data Collection and Analysis: Identifying primary and secondary data sources, conducting interviews and document reviews, and synthesizing findings.

• Writing and Structuring Case Studies: Crafting a compelling narrative with clear components, including introduction, background, methodology, findings, lessons learned, and recommendations.

• Tailoring for Different Audiences: Adapting the case study for policymakers, practitioners, and educators, with attention to tone, language, and focus.

• Ethics and Transparency in Evaluation: Ensuring ethical data use, respecting privacy, and adhering to professional standards in evaluation writing.

Relevance: This course enhances participants' ability to produce high-quality Evaluation Case Studies that contribute to knowledge management, organizational learning, and evidence-based decision-making. Course Project: Participants will develop and refine an Evaluation Case Study, applying the principles and methodologies learned throughout the course to analyze a real-world policy, programme, or project. The Case Study should be at the quality for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
